This New Year’s Eve? The Party’s Downtown.

The New Year's Eve Ball in Times Square.

While it may feel far off, New Year’s Eve is, in fact, right around the corner. And if I’ve learned anything from my years on this Earth, it’s that last-minute planning doesn’t fly on December 31st. By then, everything’s either too crowded or totally sold out, and the only remaining options are all too depressing to even consider. It’s then when I typically grab a bottle of wine, retreat to my couch, and call it a night.

This year, though, will be different. There’s still time to get a group together and make reservations downtown — where the most seasoned revelers will be getting down. And luckily, our fair city boasts loads of hot parties.

Because clubs always come to mind first for this occasion, let’s start with the party planned at Royale — the city’s only mega club. Considering the grand space (and square footage) alone, this party’s sure to be a total blast. While tickets range from General Admission to VIP and hotel-inclusive packages, perks for all include a world-renowned DJ, televised broadcast of the Times Square countdown, a champagne toast at midnight, and of course, festive party favors. Not sure you want to show up until later? The party will still be going strong after midnight — with an admission fee of only $10.

A few blocks from Royale, the Revere Hotel will be hosting two different, and seriously decadent, parties of its own. At hotspot Emerald, The Emerald Red Carpet Event is just right for debuting the chicest look imaginable and then partying down with signature cocktails, live DJ beats, and of course, a midnight toast. Simultaneously, the Hotel’s Space57 will be hosting Studio 57 — a party inspired by famed Studio 54, complete with throwback props and performances.

Or maybe a gastropub and craft cocktails are more your speed. Enter: Stoddard’s Fine Food & Ale. Recently rehabilitated in perhaps the coolest way possible, the space harkens to another time (think, Prohibition Era). It certainly sets a dramatic scene for ringing in 2014 – oh, and that complimentary champagne toast doesn’t hurt, either.

Of course, let’s not forget Good Life – always hitting that just-right balance of club-cool and street funk. This year’s edition of their always-popular New Year’s Eve Party is called – wait for it – Twerk Fest NYE. And twerk you will: a total of five different Djs will be spinning a range of genres (bootie bass, anyone?). It’s not a night to miss out on.

Simply put? Your next most memorable New Year’s Eve is just a click away. Then pick out an outfit and get partying, of course.
